Bettyhill, Sutherland.

Great places to visit in Scotland and maybe some places to avoid.

Bettyhill, Sutherland.

If you travel along the road between Thurso and Tongue, make sure to stop at Bettyhill, and particularly at:

1)
Strathnaver Museum, Clachan, Bettyhill:

This is a really interesting museum and worth a stop to go and visit it.

2)
Afterwards, if you are in need of refreshment, there is an excellent wee cafe right next door (you probably park in their carpark to go visit the museum!).
The Cafe at Bettyhill is like an oasis and wins hands down for friendliness. It serves as a watering hole for many 'enders', those who do the Lands End to John O' Groats trip.
Within the building is a Tourist Information Centre.

Thurso = 30/40 minutes by car, Tongue = 20/30 mins.

A good double!

That take our breath away.
